Minister of Medical Education K Sudhakar, who also leads the government's efforts against COVID-19 in Bengaluru and is in charge of the state war room, confirmed in a tweet that one Bengaluru journalist had tested positive.

"# COVID19 Update: from 5 p.m., 24 April to noon today A total of 489 cases, 15 positive, 18 deaths, and 153 discharges. Positive cases: 15 Bangalore Urban 6 (01 Journalist, 05 from Hongasandra) Belagavi 06 Mandya 01 Chikkaballapura 01 Dakshin Kannada 01," he tweeted.

Five out of six who are confirmed for the infection in Bengaluru are in contact of a 54-year-old worker who was tested positive earlier this week. At the same time, the other journalist visited Containment Zones demarcated by BBMP (City Civic Body).

All six positive tests in Hirebagewadi in Belagavi are secondary contacts of a previously tested positive patient.
