Aarogya Setu IVRS Service launched for people with landline and Feature Phone Users

Aarogya Setu Interactive Voice Response System service launched by health Minster. The government of India launched its own contact tracing app, Aarogya Setu, The main aim is to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The application and get updates on whether they have unknowingly come in contact with a COVID-19 positive person and can contract the virus.

Aarogya Setu

Aarogya Setu Interactive Voice Response System implemented to include citizens with feature phones and landline connections under the ambit of the Aarogya Setu mobile application. The citizens to download the mobile application to assess the risk of catching the novel coronavirus infection claimed 1,694 lives and infected 49,391 people across the country. Around 9 crore users have downloaded the Aarogya Setu mobile application so far, a ministry official said.

What is the Aarogya Setu IVRS service?

The Aarogya Setu Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) is a toll-free service. It is available across the country, wherein citizens can give a missed call to the number '1921' and they will get a call back requesting for inputs regarding their health. The questions asked are aligned with the Aarogya Setu app, and based on the responses given, citizens will also get an SMS indicating their health status and further alerts for improving their health.

The Central government made it mandatory for government and private sector employees to use the Aarogya Setu mobile application to bolster the efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The data will then help the government take timely steps and initiate the isolation procedure if necessary, and it also alerts if someone comes in close proximity with a person who has tested positive," the statement said.

The application is available on both Google Play (for Android users) and iOS App Store (for iPhone). It is also available in 10 Indian languages and English.

Aarogya Setu IVRS service Toll Free Service

The new Aarogya Setu IVRS service provides a toll-free number -1921. The users can give a missed call on the number using their feature phones or landline. The questions asked on the call will be the same as the Aarogya Setu app's self-assessment questions.  After receiving the input from the user, the answers will be analyzed and the users will receive a text message informing them about their health status. 

Aarogya Setu Mobile Application

It is developed by the Ministry of Electronics and IT to help people asses themselves the risk of their catching coronavirus. The app will calculate the risk of the user being exposed to the virus based on their responses and their interaction with others using artificial intelligence, Bluetooth technology, and algorithms. It will also inform the user if he or she has come in contact with any coronavirus positive case without revealing the identity of the person.
