Earlier today, Apple CEO Tim Cook highlighted the progress the organization has achieved in supplying medical products to hospitals. Cook said Apple's manufacturing chain has imported more than 20 million masks worldwide so far. Apple also focuses on unique facial shields for medical uses. Cook made the announcement on Twitter via a video that spanned 2 minutes. This news comes after Apple revealed Cook would offer millions of masks to health workers in the United States and Europe. Cook also emphasized the research the organization is undertaking to create unique facial masks for health employees.

“Our design, engineering, operations, and packaging teams are also working with suppliers to design, produce and ship face shields for medical workers,” Cook said.

Apple has already delivered the face shields 'first shipment to Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara, California. Cook also suggested that the medical workers 'reaction to such face shields was amazing.

“Our first shipment was delivered to Kaiser hospital facilities in the Santa Clara Valley this past week, and the feedback from doctors was very positive. These pack flat, 100 per box. Each shield is assembled in less than two minutes and is fully adjustable. We’re sourcing materials and manufacturing in the US and China,” Cook said.

The iPhone manufacturer is expected to send 1 million facial masks to hospitals by the weekend. It is still planning to manage to produce 1 million face masks a week. In collaboration with the CDC, the White House Coronavirus Task Force and FEMA, Apple has now introduced the Covid-19 monitoring software and web site. Apple has modified Siri to address coronavirus questions such as, "How do I know if I have coronavirus? ”. Siri also gives users access to resources from the CDC and helps users in downloading telehealth apps
