5KG Rice Without Ration Card

The Assam has declared it will provide five kilograms of rice to everyone who has no ration card. The government said this move is intended to support the state's poorest of the poor who, in the absence of a ration card, could not take advantage of the Public Distribution System.  As per the announcement, every person in every household who does not have a ration card will be given five kg of rice. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took the decision at a meeting with officials in the district on Monday.

Sonowal visited the godowns of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) located at Noonmati, Changsari and Changsari Railway Yard to take stock of the availability of food grains in the state. He has also held a meeting at Noonmati with FCI officials. The FCI officials told the chief minister that the current stock available at FCI godowns in Assam could meet the demand of the state for the next two and a half months
