Coronavirus Lockdown makes Mosques remain Closed in Srinagar ahead of Ramzan

Owing to the coronavirus shutdown, mosques and shrines in Srinagar remained closed during the holy month of Ramzan.

No Mosques in Lockdown

In the wake of the COVID-19 issue, mosques throughout the world are silenced. Ramzan, the holy month of fasting and prayers in Islam, is being observed in some places from today while it will begin for others tomorrow. Ramzan's start is determined as per spot on the moon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on March 24 announced a 21 -day nationwide lockdown as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID-19. Later, the lockdown was extended till May 3.
