Coronavirus Updates: India records 17,265 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 543 deaths

The total number of coronavirus confirmed cases in India on Monday crossed 17,000, while the death toll exceeded yesterday's 500-mark. While the pandemic outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues to spread like wildfire in India, the state of Maharashtra has emerged as the epicenter of coronavirus spread where cases crossed the 3,500-mark and more than 200 deaths. Mumbai, the country's financial hub, has become the hotbed of the spreading coronavirus in the state.

COVID-19: State and Districts Updates

Delhi, where the number of COVID-19 cases on Sunday hit the 2000-mark while reporting over 40 fatalities.

In the list of worst-hit states due to the virus, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala are respectively next in.

Kerala: The Kerala Department of Health has designated as COVID-19 hotspots 88 local bodies, including the corporation, municipality, and panchayats, spread across 14 districts in the State.

Agra: With 14 new positive corona cases registered on Sunday in Agra, the tally of the virus-infected people in the district has climbed to 255.

West Bengal: 150 people were arrested since morning till Monday morning (April 20, 2020) for deliberate violation of the safety restrictions. At the same time, the Kolkata Police have confiscated a total of 40 vehicles.

UP's Gautam Buddh Nagar District: 2 New cases COVID-19 found in Noida; count now 97 in the district. Of the 97 patients with coronavirus at UP's Gautam Buddh Nagar, 38 have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
