Coronavirus Updates: India records 18,601 Total Cases and 590 Deaths

On Monday the total number of coronavirus cases confirmed in India reached 18,601, while the death toll reached the 590-mark of yesterday. As the coronavirus disease pandemic outbreak (COVID-19) continues to spread like wildfire in India, Maharashtra state has emerged as the epicenter of coronavirus spread where cases crossed the 4,666 cases and more than 232 deaths.

COVID-19: State and Districts Updates

India reported 1,336 more COVID-19 cases bringing the country's count of coronavirus cases to 18,601 in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday. Among such patients, 14,759 are active cases and 3,252 have been cured or discharged and relocated. To date, there have been as many as 590 deaths recorded. There were as many as 47 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours


Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state with 4,666 cases, of which 572 patients have recovered and 232 patients are dead, according to the ministry's morning report. Delhi's count stands at 2,081, 431 of whom were recovered or discharged while 47 patients lost their lives. Gujarat, being third on the list with respect to positive COVID-19 cases, has 1,939 cases with 131 recovered and 71 dead. The COVID-19 figure for Tamil Nadu is 1,520 with 457 recovered patients and 17 fatalities. Rajasthan reported 1,576 cases, 205 of which recovered and 25 patients died. 

To date, 1,485 positive cases have been recorded in Madhya Pradesh, of which 127 patients have recovered and 74 patients have lost their lives due to the deadly virus. 408 people have been tested positive for coronavirus in Kerala, which confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in the world. Protection Status
