COVID-19: 336 Fresh Cases in Last 24 Hours

With 336 new cases detected over the past 24 hours, India's total number of reported cases of coronavirus increased to 2301, the Union Health Ministry said Friday. It also includes 56 deaths, 55 foreign nationals, and 157 people released from hospitals after their care. Maharashtra remained the worst-hit district, with a total number of positive cases rising to 335, according to data from the Health Ministry, followed by Tamil Nadu, who has 309 cases. Then comes Kerala, with 286 cases. In Delhi, the total number of cases is 219.

Karnataka with 124 cases reported. Rajasthan has 133 cases, Telangana has 107, Andhra Pradesh has 132, and Uttar Pradesh has 113. Madhya Pradesh has registered 99 cases, Jammu and Kashmir have 70 cases, Punjab has 46 cases, West Bengal has 53 cases, Gujarat 87 cases, Haryana has 43 cases, Bihar 24 cases, Chandigarh has 18 cases, Assam 16 cases, Ladakh has 14 cases of coronavirus according to the data of Health Ministry.

Most of the casualties, at least 16 deaths, were reported from Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, the global coronavirus toll crossed 51,000 with Italy (13,915) and Spain (10,096) reporting for almost half the deaths, while the number of cases was nearly one million, with the US reporting more than one-fifth of them, as per the Coronavirus Resource Centre at Johns Hopkins University.
