Covid-19 Lockdown: Ola partners with BMC to enable essential medical trips in Mumbai

On Wednesday, cab service provider Ola announced that the company has partnered with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai to allow essential medical trips. To shuttle health workers and paramedical staff through wards and their residences, BMC has been provided with dedicated cars in the city.

Health Minister Rajesh Tope of Maharashtra said: "We are pleased to partner with Ola and support ferry doctors, health-care staff, and hundreds of frontline workers to help them fulfill their important duties. We look forward to working with Ola on finding more ways to support Mumbaikars in the true spirit of the city in our fight against Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Anand Subramanian, spokesman and Communications Head, Ola, said: "We stand committed to our resolve to assist as many people in these tumultuous times. This partnership will play an important role in the transportation of COVID soldiers, such as frontline and healthcare staff, who support us in these critical and testing times.
