Covid-19 Updates: Punjab records 100th Covid-19 case

SAS Nagar district in Mohali, the last four days 11 of the 26 Covid-19 cases, have been reported from Jawaharpur village. On Wednesday, the number of people who tested positive for novel coronavirus in Punjab reached 100. However, most of these cases were reported from district Mohali (26), followed by district SBS Nagar (19).

Health officials have sealed the entire village

Taking into account the growing cases of Covid-19, local health officials have sealed the entire village, which has a total of 522 households. Authorities obtained samples of 118 people who came into contact with the positive cases. 

Though, some people who previously worked at a factory in the village owned by a local panchayat member said the factory owner was the first person to get infected. They claimed the illness was also contracted by his wife, brother, and father. In addition to Mohali and SBS Nagar, the district of Amritsar also reported 10 cases while Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, and Jalandhar reported seven cases each.
