This is why you should stop drinking too much during Lockdown!!

Drinking some amount is okay, but if you are one of those who are not taking the lockdown too well and consuming copious amounts of alcohol, it is time for you to stop.

A study published in the journal Alcohol Research reported that when a person drinks too much alcohol, he risks disrupting the immune pathways in the body. It comes in the way of the body's ability to fight off infections, and recover from injuries of the tissue.
Mental health experts say that different people have been reacting differently to the health crisis. Be aware of the truth too much alcohol can mess with your system and bring down your immunity which is very needed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The study also said that excessive alcohol can increase the chances of auto respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and pneumonia. These diseases are believed to be caused by a coronavirus. This makes it very clear, that drinking can put you in a position of vulnerability, and make you susceptible to contracting the infection.

Drink moderately

On the contrary, it is believed that alcohol is a stimulant. After the first drink, alcohol causes the slowing of cells in the brain and ultimately results in depression. Also, excess alcohol does the same, slowing down and aberrancy in the functioning of other body systems as well.
There is no need to worry much if you are having a glass of wine or a pint of beer occasionally with dinner. But anything else can be considered risky. Hence it is good to etch that "the key is to always drink in moderation."
