Lockdown update

India should expect to see the light at the end of the tunnel on Day 31 of the national lockdown. Because of the current trend, the Center has said that before May 3 – the end of Lockdown 2.0 – India will change the curve of the novel coronavirus. There is hope that shops that sell non-essential goods in the municipal areas can be opened up, as the Housing Ministry has announced.

This comes, even as the country on Friday recorded 1,752 fresh cases taking the total number of infected people to 23,452 even as doubling rate of the disease improved to 10 days from 7.5 reported earlier this week. The death toll from the infection rose to 723 with 37 fatalities reported since Thursday evening

In India, it is the most substantial single-day spike, and it occurs the day before Ramzan month.

Nevertheless, the good news is that India's recovery rate has hit 20,52%, and its mortality rate is limited to 3%, down from around 7% of the world average. In a speech at the daily press, the Center reported that the Covid-19 curve is to be curved in India by May 3.

These are the best developments in the outbreak, therapy, and research of Covid-19 in India:

The Union Home Ministry said in a late-night order on Friday that businesses selling products that were not necessary can resume business. Yet shopping malls and markets will continue to be shut down.

The order also requires local shops and small businesses to reopen in residential complexes. However, with only 50% power, the shopkeepers can only operate with the social distance norms in mind as well as masks.

It is mandatory: the power of 50 percent of staff, mask wear, and observation #SocialDistances. No relaxation in #Hotspots /contamination zones,' it said. "Market complexes are permitted, even within the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities.
