Suprise for Saqlain

Saqlain Mushtaq said he felt surprised when the Indian team dropped Harbhajan Singh. He also said Ravichandran Ashwin's bowling style and Harbhajan Singh's very distinct, they both should play together. He asked that since two fast bowlers on the right can play together, that can't two right-arm spinners play together. Mushtaq further said that Harbhajan had class, he would have taken at least 700 Test wickets.

The Indian team had seen a shift in mindset about spin bowling since the 2011 World Cup. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled beautifully and the position of Harbhajan was not permanent in a case like this. Since 2012, the Punjab off-spinner has only contested five Test matches.

He said, 'India has very good quality spinners. Kuldeep Yadav has impressed with his performance. Ashwin and Jadeja are doing well regularly. He is a world class bowler. I am sure Ashwin and Jadeja will play 100 Test matches. Ashwin has taken 365 wickets in 71 Tests so far, while Jadeja has taken 213 wickets in 49 Tests.
