India: COVID-19 cases hits 10,000

The death toll in India from coronavirus has reached 339 the total number of coronavirus cases has crossed 19 lakh while fatalities have risen to 1.19 lakh. India crossed 10,000 COVID 19 positive cases.

According to the latest data from Health Ministry 1,211 new COVID-19 infections reported in the past 24 hours, the total number of coronavirus cases in India rose to 10,363,  The death toll from coronavirus in India has risen to 339 while 1,035 patients have been cured of the virus or discharged. Maharashtra is the worst affected state with 2,334 coronavirus cases. Delhi (1,510), Tamil Nadu (1,173), Rajasthan (873), Madhya Pradesh (604), Telangana (562), Uttar Pradesh (558) and Gujarat (539) are among the other worst-affected states.

Maharashtra tops the tally with 160 fatalities, followed by Madhya Pradesh at 43, Delhi at 28 and Gujarat at 26, shows the Health Ministry's figures.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 10 am today, on the last day of the 21-day nationwide lockdown aimed to curb the spread of imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus.
