India records over 1,400 new Coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

Within the last 24 hours, ending Thursday morning, more than 1,400 new cases of the novel coronavirus have carried India’s count over the 21,000-mark. The death toll in India due to Covid-19 has risen to 681 after India reported 41 deaths in 24 hours.

According to the latest figures from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday morning, there are currently over 16,400 active coronavirus cases in India, while more than 4,000 people have either been cured or discharged.

On Thursday morning, the cumulative number of positive cases of coronavirus in India climbs to 21, 393. Covid-19 cases in India stood at 19 984 on Wednesday.

Over the last 24 hours, India has seen as many as 1,400 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus and reported 41 new Covid-19 deaths.

The death toll due to coronavirus in India has risen to 681. Maharashtra continues to top the list, with 269 of 681 deaths overall. Maharashtra is followed in 103 by Gujarat, 80 by Madhya Pradesh, 48 by Delhi, 27 by Rajasthan, 24 by Andhra Pradesh, and 23 by Telangana.

In Ladakh, as two patients with coronavirus recovered from the infection, the number of active cases in the union territory fell to two.

A total of 5,00, 542 samples from 4, 85, 172 individuals were tested on April 23, 2020, as of 9 am, the Indian Council of Medical Research said. According to ICMR, as many as 21, 797 samples were confirmed positive. Protection Status
