Indian Railways prepares 40,000 isolation beds in 2,500 coaches

Indian Railways has prepared 40,000 isolation beds in 2,500 coaches. They are making 375 isolation beds daily and this is going on across 133 locations across the country: Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Health Ministry.

Isolation Beds

Railways announced that around 2500 coaches with 40000 isolation beds are ready for use. As a part of assigning 5000 coaches for isolation, it has already reached 2500 coaches to fight against coronavirus.

Once the ideal was approved, conversion action was started quickly by Zonal Railways. On an average, 375 coaches are converted by Indian Railways in a day, and work is taken out at 133 locations in the country. These coaches provided as per medical reports issued. Efforts are made to assure the best possible stay and medical supervision as per the needs and norms.
