Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The news released about the postponing of the 13th edition of the T20 tournament until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. March 29 initially the IPL matches were suspended until April 15 country went on a 21-day lockdown in a bid to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended lockdown will be extended till May 3. The global health concerns regarding COVID-19 and lockdown measures implemented by the Government of India to contain the spread of the pandemic. Broadcasters and Sponsors and all the Stakeholders acknowledge the IPL 2020.

The decision had been made on the fate of the IPL 2020 as the board was at the same place where it was when they announced the suspension of the tournament. The COVID-19 outbreak has also brought the sporting world to a halt and has not even spared the Olympic Games that were scheduled to begin from July 24 but now have been postponed to 2021.
