Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba held a meeting on Thursday with municipal commissioners and district magistrates of 13 COVID-19 affected cities across the country like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai, officials said before the completion of nationwide lockdown 4.0. Thirteen cities were identified as the most affected by COVID-19 as they contribute to 70 percent of the country 's positive cases.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries (Health) of all States and Union Territories via video conference with the 'Public Health Answer to COVID-19' agenda. District magistrates or 13 town collectors have attended the conference, said the official. The Meeting reviewed the measures taken by officials and municipal corporation staff to manage COVID-19 cases. Highlights of this approach provide research on high-risk causes, measures such as acceptance rate, rate of fatality, rate of doubling, checks per million individuals, etc.

The Ministry of Home Affairs posted a tweet on its Twitter page that said the prime minister would address the country on May 31 via 'Mann Ki Baat' which is the last day of the fourth process of coronavirus-enforced lockdown. He "can shed some light on Lockdown 5.0" during the series, the article citing its sources said. The study further reported that the fifth lockdown process would concentrate primarily on 11 cities with 70 percent of India's overall coronavirus cases. Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Thane, Indore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Surat, and Kolkata are to be included.

“The Centre may also consider allowing religious places to be reopened in Lockdown 5.0 but with certain conditions," the report stated.
