Microwave sterilizer developed to disintegrate novel Coronavirus

Defense Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, a deemed university supported by Defence Research and Development Organisation has developed a microwave sterilizer named as 'ATULYA' to disintegrate (COVID-19). The virus gets disintegrated by differential heating in the range of 560 to 600 Celsius temperatures.

Athula to Sterilize Virus

A microwave sterilizer named 'ATULYA' to disintegrate (COVID-19) has been established by the Defense College of Advanced Technology, Pune, a deemed university funded by the Defense Research and Development Organisation. The virus is disintegrated from 560 to 600 Celsius temperatures by differential heating. The product is a cost-effective approach that can be run in fixed or portable installations. This machine has been checked and found to be suitable for human / operator health. Depending on the size and form of the specific items, sterilization period is between 30 seconds and one minute. The approximate device weight is three kilograms, which can only be used for non-metallic objects.
