"Money Isn't The Problem": Arvind Kejriwal

On Monday, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal thanked Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Gautam Gambhir for his decision to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) from Rs 50 lakh and masks for doctors and nurses assigned to combat coronavirus.

Arvind Kejriwal also sought to clear the air when the governing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came under pressure from the BJP for the second time in two days. "Gautam Ji, thank u for ur offer. The problem is not of money but the availability of PPE kits. We wud be grateful if u cud help us get them from somewhere immediately, Del govt will buy them. Thank u (sic)," Kejriwal tweeted.

Barbs from the BJP came after Manish Sisodia, Kejriwal's deputy, looked for central funds on Saturday to battle the coronavirus pandemic, claiming it was the country's third most affected area.
In a letter to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Sisodia alleged that the Central released over Rs 17,000 crore from the disaster fund to states, but Delhi was not granted a single rupee.

Arvind Kejriwal also said that the Centre had demanded PPE kits from his government, but none were received.

After that, Gautam Gambhir, who represents East Delhi in the Lok Sabha, had on Saturday accused the Arvind Kejriwal government of "shedding crocodile tears" and "playing the victim card" about the problem.

Gambhir also said he volunteered to donate Rs 50 lakh to the Delhi government for the procurement of PPE kits and masks but got no feedback
