Motorola gearing to launch its next flagship on April 22, Qualcomm snapdragon 865 and 108MP camera in tow

The company has reported on Twitter that Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility will launch its new high-end phone on 22 April. Of note, the launch will be online-only in the midst of the current Coronavirus crisis, but clearly the show will proceed for Motorola. Motorola joins the likes of OnePlus and LG to hype its soon-to-launch phone(s) even though lockdowns in various parts of the world will be easier said than done to curb the spread of COVID-19 mean sales.

Snapdragon 865 processor

To be fair, Motorola was supposed to announce the phone in question at the Mobile World Congress 2020 before the tech event was called off in the aftermath of the Coronavirus outbreak, which will be launched on April 22. Various sources seem to say that, at least. The phone in question is supposed to be the Motorola Edge Plus, although it's also supposed that a vanilla Edge would come along.

In a short video, Motorola has kind of teased the phone on Twitter, showcasing what could probably be the greatest highlight. The purported Motorola Edge Plus will come with a curved display near-edge to-edge, the kind we've seen on Samsung Galaxy S high-end phones until last year. This year Samsung in the form of the Galaxy S20 series has gone for a comparatively flatter Galaxy S.

The Motorola Edge Plus is supposed to be a high-end flagship with reports saying it is powered by the new and greatest Snapdragon 865 processor from Qualcomm. The design has already leaked via serial tipster Evan Blass, seemingly confirming a triple rear camera setup with a 108MP main camera, 16MP ultrawide, and another 8MP telephoto camera, among other things. It's also said the phone would come with a huge 5,000mAh battery. This is further said to come inside a punch-hole monitor cutout with a selfie camera built-in. Protection Status
