The boy was born on April 6 in a private hospital to Raghunath Mali and his 24-year-old wife, Manju, both residents of the Bachheri village in Sheopur district. When the couples were asked about the reason behind naming his son as "Lockdown," which in view of the ongoing three-week restrictions on movement evokes feelings of anxiety among people, Mali, a farmer, said it would forever remind them of this unprecedented time.

"My wife gave birth to a boy on Monday. My wife and I agreed to call him 'Lockdown' when it comes to mention his name on a birth certificate," Mali said.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi had ordered for a 21-day lockdown to protect the country from coronavirus. In this time of crisis, the whole country is united, and, to make this event unforgettable, we have named our son Lockdown," said the couple. Protection Status
