Mumbai nearly has 70% of Maharashtra's total COVID-19 count. Mumbai and Pune planned to extend the lockdown as COVID-19 cases continue rising in the two cities. The state recorded 10,000 coronavirus cases. The 733 districts of India will be divided into Red Zones, Orange Zones, and Green Zones.

Mumbai coronavirus cases Area-wise

Maharashtra is one of highest number of red zones in the country at 14. Red zones were the districts such as a number of coronavirus cases that were confirmed and declared as COVID-19 hotspots. Around 1,773 recovered people and 459 casualties are present in Maharashtra. Metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad have been designated as red zones in the new classification. This list will be updated with the fresh Red, Orange, and Green Zone classification as and when it is revised by the central government. The containment zone plan is implemented in places where a large number of patients have been detected. Around 25 new cases of coronavirus were reported from Dharavi on Thursday the total number of COVID-19 patients in Asia's biggest slum area rose to 369.
