Mumbai Police thanks Akshay’s kind gesture.

While we are sitting at home to protect ourselves from the deadly coronavirus, few people are working tirelessly to safeguard our lives. Health workers and police officials are among the few who are stepping out of their homes to protect the lives of citizens. We have come across various celebrities coming forward to thank them for their efforts. Talking mainly about actor Akshay Kumar, after contributing Rs 25 crore to the relief funds, now the actor has donated Rs 2 crore to the Mumbai Police Foundation. 

The actor has been doing his part to spread positivity and awareness about the virus. A few days back, he has also released a song, Teri Mitti- Tribute to thank the health workers. And now his contribution has been appreciated by one and all. The Police Commissioner of Mumbai took to Twitter to thank the actor.

The actor also took to Twitter and thanked the police officials. "I salute @MumbaiPolice head constables Chandrakant Pendurkar & Sandip Surve, who laid their lives fighting Corona. I have done my duty, I hope you will too. Let's not forget we are safe and alive because of them," read Akshay's tweet.

Tweeple also showered the actor with love and appreciation for his good deeds. 

The actor had contributed Rs 25 crore to the PM-Cares Fund and post which he also donated Rs 3 crore to Mumbai's BMC to help them source PPEs, masks, rapid testing kits to the citizens.

Akshay was amongst the first celebrities who had come forward to donate to the relief funds for the fight against the novel coronavirus.
