NASA Hubble Captures Disintegration of COMET ATLAS into more than Two Dozen Pieces
The images of comet C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS) was taken on April 20 and 23, 2020 by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope finally showed new evidence about the breakup of the comet ATLAS. NASA Hubble identified about 30 fragments on April 20, and 25 pieces on April 23. Their appearance changes substantially between the two days so it is difficult to locate them.

NASA Hubble - Comet ATLAS- Disintegrating
Images of comet C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS) taken on April 20 and 23, 2020 are released by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope showed the breakup of the fragile comet.
Hubble totally identified about 30 fragments on April 20, and 25 pieces on April 23. The pieces are allowed to envelop in a sunlight-swept tail of cometary dust. Actually, their appearance changes substantially between the two days. The researchers believe that the original nucleus itself broken into pieces and dispersed across the comet which enhances the breakup of Comet.
