NASCAR return possible says Nelson Piquet Jr

Nelson Piquet Jr. is seen in one of the world's most competitive series, NASCAR, after his F1 career. In addition to other occasional events, including one in the Cup Series, there were three full seasons, two in the Truck Series and one in the Xfinity Series, in Watkins Glen 2014.

Nelson Piquet Jr says:

In addition to the fans 'hopes for a potential return, there were three wins in the national divisions altogether.

Piquet admitted at the beginning of the year that he was in talks with one of the Truck Series teams for 2020, without disclosing the name of the team, nor how many races. The son of three-time F1 world champion Nelson Piquet revealed the reasons why he likes the series so much in an exclusive interview to Motorsport.com.

"For two reasons I've always said I might return to NASCAR," Piquet said. "I think you can still be competitive with an age group between 40 and 50 if you're having a good life. The other reason is that there, I want it. I always felt, when I lived in Europe, that in the future I will have a residence between Brazil and the USA. I don't see myself staying in Europe, my business is in Brazil and the USA after I retire or have a company there. It seems more feasible for me to make NASCAR than F1, Formula E or Indy.

Another option after the F1 period was for Toro Rosso to return to the single-seat category. But the "special" NASCAR had already taken hold of Piquet's head and heart.

"It was a chance (to be running for Toro Rosso). I remember I had to look for a sponsorship at the time that doesn't even tickle for nowadays, I remember it was US$ 400,000.
