No Salon Shops amid Lockdown Says MHA Joint Secretary

On Saturday, the Ministry of Home Affairs released a clarification on its new, conditional, shop opening order in the wake of the lockout of Covid-19. It said that the rules refer to shops that deal with "selling of products" and are not specific to "render services" salons and barbershops.

No Salons Until Lockdown

"Hair salons and barbershops render services. Our order is applicable to shops that deal in the sale of items. There is no order to open barbershops and hair salons," Joint Secretary, Home Affairs, Punya Salila Srivastava stated.  On Saturday, the Ministry of Home Affairs released a clarification on its new, conditional, shop opening order in the wake of the lockout of Covid-19. It said that the rules refer to shops that deal with "selling of products" and are not specific to "render services" salons and barbershops.

Salila has explained that the selling of liquor during the lockdown would remain banned, and restaurants would remain locked.
