COVID-19 in Delhi.

Delhi, already being second in the list of most affected areas in the country, had a delivery boy who tested positive for COVID-19 after delivering pizza to over 70 families. Twenty more delivery boys who came in contact with the boy have been quarantined and monitored in Delhi Chhattarpur.
The 19-year-old had delivered pizza for a restaurant in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi, till last Sunday until he fell ill. He has delivered food in areas like Haus Khas, Savitri Nagar, Malviya Nagar, etc., for the past 15 days that he had worked. According to BM Mishra, district collector, the families have been quarantined.

The restaurant where the rider worked said in a statement, "After all precautions and vigilance, in an unfortunate turn of events, a delivery partner of our Malviya Nagar kitchen in South Delhi had tested COVID positive yesterday. We have shared all required information with authorities & they have reached out to all customers who had come in indirect contact with the affected,". The restaurant is now shut down for 14 days. "While we serve the society, one of our delivery partners has taken the hit. We stand by him and are doing everything to support him," it added.

While the delivery boy doesn't have any travel history, he must have caught the virus while delivering to an infected family, suspect the officials.
Food delivery giant, Zomato said in a statement, "We are not sure whether the rider was affected at the time of delivery. COVID-19 could happen to anyone - and it is near impossible for all of us to completely isolate ourselves, especially when we need outside support for essentials such as food...We believe that none of our riders should and would knowingly keep working if they knew they were infected with COVID-19," asserting that it was maintaining safety and precaution measures.
