PM Modi: Nationalwide Lockdown extended till May 3

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that a nationwide lockdown to contain the Covid-19 would be extended until May 3, as the number of novel coronavirus cases surged past 10,000-mark Tuesday. Lockdown 2.0 will take effect from April 14 till May 3, PM Modi said on Tuesday.

PM Modi addresses the Nation

In his speech to India on Tuesday, the Prime Minister hailed Indians' efforts to counter the novel coronavirus. "Covid-19 spreads rapidly, but India's fight against coronavirus is going high. We are able to wage a war because of your sacrifices, "the PM said on Tuesday as he thanked the Indians for their cooperation.

Till 20th April, all districts, localities, states will be closely monitored as to how strictly they are implementing norms. States which will not let hotspots increase, they could be allowed to let some important activities resume, but with certain conditions: PM Modi
