PM Videoconferincing with 40 Sportspersons on Covid-19 Situation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with 40 top sportspersons, including Sachin Tendulkar, PV Sindhu, and Hima Das, via video conferencing today, on #COVID19 situation in the country.

PM Narendra Modi held a Video Conferencing with the 40 Sportspersons to handle the Covid-19. As India entered the 10th day of the 21-day lockdown placed to curtail the spread of the country's novel Coronavirus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting on Friday with 40 top sportsmen from different sports via video conferencing, in the midst of the country's COVID-19 crisis. The meeting also included sports minister Kiren Rijiju.

Here are some of the prominent names who were a part of the meeting; the rest can be ascertained in the video above:

  • Hima Das (Athletics)

  • PV Sindhu (Badminton)

  • Yuvraj Singh (Cricket)

  • Ajay Thakur (Kabaddi)

  • Gagan Narang (Shooting)

  • Abhishek Verma (Shooting)

  • Mirabai Chanu (Weightlifting)

  • Sharad Kumar (Para-Athletics)

The meeting was also attended by BCCI president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly, from his Kolkata home. This arrives in the wake of numerous athletic competitions being canceled or delayed globally, from Euro 2020 to Wimbledon, and from IPL and also the Olympics (although not indefinitely).
