Started my day by taking blessings from my Mother: Tendulkar on his birthday

Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar turned 47 on Friday. The Little Master started his day seeking blessings from his mother as he did not want to celebrate his birthday due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Tendulkar decided not to celebrate his birthday

Indian great Sachin Tendulkar decided to not celebrate his birthday as a mark of respect to the COVID-19 warriors, who are leading the fight against the pandemic. 
Tendulkar took to Twitter to post a picture with his mother on his birthday and said he received a picture of Lord Ganesha from his mother on the special day. 
Tendulkar wrote "Started my day by taking blessings from my Mother. Sharing a photo of Ganpati Bappa that she gifted me. Absolutely priceless."

A source said that Tendulkar felt it was not the right for celebrations as the country and the world is fighting against the novel coronavirus that has wreaked havoc globally.
a source close to the player on Wednesday stated that "Sachin has decided that this is not the time for celebrations. He feels that this is the best tribute he can pay to all the doctors, nurses, paramedics, policemen, defence personnel, who are at the frontline." 

On his 47th birthday, Tendulkar received wishes from his former teammates and current Indian players among others in the sports fraternity. India skipper Virat Kohli, Tendulkar's former opening partner Virender Sehwag also took to social media to extend wishes to the Master Blaster. India head coach Ravi Shastri, Yuvraj Singh were also among many who wished Tendulkar.
