Toyota Kirloskar Motor comes up with Restart Manual for post Coronavirus Lockdown Operations

When announcing the extension of the lockdown until May 3rd, the Prime Minister also said that from next week some sectors that are shut down will start work. In a related order, from Monday April 20, 2020, the Union Home Ministry said certain industries that do not fall within municipal city limits can start operating.

Toyota Restart Manual

Looking at that possibility, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has published a comprehensive 'Restart Manual' to direct industries to post the withdrawal from the lockdown. An SoP was developed by bringing together a team of cross-functional experts to ensure the safest possible restart to manufacture by protecting the workers from any health hazards. 

According to the Toyota manual, social distancing must be strictly followed. The manual begins by thinking about the workers who commute to work. Upon leaving home, it requires self-checking one's wellbeing and observing social distancing norms when sharing transport.

The manual also addresses the regular disinfection of commonly used areas and the location of sanitisers in those locations. There is also mention on the food menu of lesser items, along with staggered meal timings. The manual also recommends mask wear and avoid using Air Conditioners to prevent disease transmission. A heavy focus was also placed on virtual meetings.
