Aarogya Setu Mitr: New Feature of Aarogya Setu app
On 4 May, the Aarogya Setu Mitr portal was launched to offer free online COVID-19 related consultation to its users. The new is an initiative available for citizens who are following lockdown measures. This feature is available on the Aarogya Setu application, the contact tracing app. The app was launched by policy think tank NITI Aayog.
Aarogya Setu Mitr:
The Aarogya Setu Mitr portal will provide a one-stop solution to all queries related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The portal remains as a separate site. It will not access individual data from Aarogya Setu. The platform provides free teleconsultation for the users with COVID-19 related symptoms and ancillary services at market rates including a home collection of samples for diagnostics and medicine delivery.
NITI Aayog has tied up with eSanjeevaniOPD, Swasth, StepOne, Tata Bridgital Health, and Tech Mahindra's Connectsense TeleHeath platform in order to provide online consultation. The portal now offers telemedicine services in two languages namely English and Hindi.
How to Book free online consultation?
Free teleconsultation is provided by companies including Swasth, Tata Bridgital Health, which is a healthcare initiative of the Tata Group, and Connectsense Telehealth, a platform from Tech Mahindra.
To avail the Aarogya Setu Mitr service, people are required to first head to its official website check the official website https://www.aarogyasetumitr.in/. The user will be provided with three options of services
1) Consult Doctor
2) Home Lab Test
3) ePharmacy
Consult Doctor:
If you are looking to consult with a doctor, then choose the "Consult Doctor" option. Upon selecting the option, you will be able to call, chat, or video conference with a doctor, who can diagnose your symptoms and guide you on what steps to take to get back to being healthy.
Home Lab Test:
If you choose the ‘Home Lab Test’ feature, you can call up a lab and get all kinds of medical tests done from home.
ePharmacy:
The ePharmacy option will enable the users to doorstep lab tests at market rates and order medicines online.
Major collaboration:
Tata Bridgital Health provides audio, video, and chat consultations with a network of over 100 doctors. Tech Mahindra's platform offers video and audio consultations with doctors from Nightingale and other hospitals.
Swasth is a collaboration powered by 1mg, Practo, CureFit, Apollo Hospitals, Medanta, Manipal Hospitals, and Columbia Asia Hospital.
Home lab tests will be offered by 1mg, Dr Lal Path Labs, SRL Diagnostics, Thyrocare, and MetroPolis. Also, online medicines will be offered by 1mg, Netmeds, Pharmeasy, and MedLife.
