| |Simple tricks to fake WhatsApp Live Location
Remember WhatsApp has a feature that allows you to send your current location to your contacts, to show that you're at a particular place during that time. By reading this article, we're sure you would like to know how you can send a fake live location to your contacts or maybe just for fun to see if it can be done. WhatsApp uses Google Maps to pull up a location so your friends will know immediately whether you're at home or left for the day or whether you've traveled anywhere.
Method 1
One method is by choosing your location manually instead of Google Maps having to do it. Let's say you're having a blast in Goa but you told your friends you're at home in Kolkata or you have visited Amsterdam for the day and you stay in the Hague, you want to make it seem like you're at home because you know, questions.
You open your WhatsApp on your Android phone.
Next, you enable the location feature so you can get your GPS data.
Then you open the chatbox of the contact you want to send a fake location to.
You tap on the attachment feature which appears on the chatbox.
Select 'location' and then tap the search bar at the top of the Google Maps area.
Enter your desired location and search. Pin the spot and send it.
Please note, this might not work for some and can be easily detected as one can simply trace your location instead. Chances of being caught are slightly higher, proceed with caution.
Method 2
First, you might want to download the Fake GPS app from Google Play Store and then you install it on your phone.
Once you install your app, open it and go to settings, then developer options, select allow mock location.
For some devices, you may not see Developer options, you go to settings, then select about the device, you tap on 'build number' 7 times and then you go back to settings.
Hard press GPS/location which is found in the quick settings drawer and enter GPS settings, set the GPS option to Device Only. You must of, course, open the app to grant permissions and access to your phone.
Once it displays a map for you, pin on a place you want to show as your location and tap start.
Your device will start showing the exact location where you pinned. If you want to send it to a contact on WhatsApp, set the location from the Fake GPS App and sent it as your current location on WhatsApp.
Please note, you can use this fake location on any application besides WhatsApp as well. The second method works better than the first as it can not be traced.
