A mid-day report quoted Amit Behl, senior joint secretary and chairman of CINTAA's outreach committee, as saying, "A few days ago, KWAN, the talent management firm that handles Hrithik, asked for our account information and promptly transferred Rs 25 lakh to Cine Artiste Welfare Trust, our sister concern.
While noting the contribution of Vidya Balan to the cause, Behl said, "She's done her bit through the (producers') guild, and was pleased to support us. Additionally, she will post a video (inciting others) to help those in need."
The actor also helps facilitate 1.2 lakh nutritious meals for those seriously impacted by the lockdown enforced by the government during the country's Covid-19 outbreak.
The Super 30 star has inspired the NGO Akshaya Patra who is working on the ground to ensure that daily wage labourers and low-income groups in India get nutritious cooked meals in these tough times.
