Since his film Zanjeer became a big success, Jaya and Amitabh got married. Amitabh revealed last year in a blog post why they were rushed for getting married. In 1973, Amitabh and Jaya came to London to take their holidays. But his friend, poet Harivanshrai Bachchan, said that if they were married, they could go together.
On his blog, he wrote ---- "Seeking or rather informing parents that we were a group of friends going to England .. who all are going came to the query from Babuji .. names disclosed .. Jaya is also going with you .. you both are alone .. yes .. if you have to go marry and go," he wrote.
Amitabh and Jaya decided to marry the very next day and caught the flight to London at night. "I dress up in formal marriage Indian .. get into my car and want to drive to Malabar Hill where her friends lived and where the ceremony was to be done .. my driver Nagesh, pushes me out and insist he would drive me to the wedding .. the substitute for the tradition horse... off I went .. wedding over in a few hours .. done .. Mr and Mrs proclaimed .. over !!
In 1974, their daughter Shweta was received by the couple and son Abhishek in 1976. Two years ago, they spoke about the individuals of their parents when they appeared together in a Koffee With Karan segment.
Each time Abhishek enters the house, Shweta said Jaya's eyes shine, just like her reaction in the film Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham when she saw Shah Rukh Khan. Shweta talked about her regular showdowns with the paparazzi, "If there are too many people around her, she gets claustrophobic. Even, when people take her pictures without telling her, she doesn't like it. She's coming from the school of thought.
In Sholay, Silsila, Abhimaan, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gha and other movies, Amitabh and Jaya also have been working together.
