WhatsApps new search feature for Photos, Videos and GIFs
Lets users search their application for keywords, but there is no way for users to search for media yet. However, a recent beta update indicates that one such feature works on the Instant Messaging platform. Not only is the advanced search restricted to media files, but users will also be able to scan for shared connections on the chat, and even documents.

This latest feature has been spotted on WAbetaInfo's beta version of the iOS app. The upgrade to version 2.20.117 comes with the Advanced Search Mode, according to the article. The functionality is currently only available on iOS for WhatsApp Beta users. WhatsApp is also able to issue the update for Android users very early.
The users will be able to browse through search filters for different file types on the chat. Such search filters are colour coded for different file types. We know from the article that at least the beta version will be able to scan for images, audio, GIFs, documents, weblinks, and videos. Faced with the Covid-19 outbreak, which has become a global phenomenon, WhatsApp has also made improvements to the application. There has been an increase in the use of the application due to lockdowns being implemented in most major cities. Recently, the company reduced the number of forwardings a person may send to one in the event of frequently shared messages.
